Sometimes you do not need an organiser. You need the right décor.

Imagine you are organising a family celebration yourself. The restaurant is booked, the guests are invited and the music is chosen. But the room feels too neutral, and you would like to give it more personality. A beautifully styled table, a photo backdrop or a few decorative elements may be enough to connect the whole space through one idea.

Or perhaps you are planning a birthday at home, a small wedding, a corporate reception or a themed party in a rented venue. You do not have to hand the entire event over to MOOD.EVENTLAB if you do not want to. In that case, our role is much more specific: to help you choose the right décor and understand how it will work in your particular space.

We are completely comfortable with clients organising their own events. In fact, combining your ideas with a few professionally selected details can sometimes create an especially personal atmosphere.

Décor for different venues and events in Hamburg

A living room, garden, terrace, restaurant, hotel, banquet hall, office, exhibition space or country venue all require different approaches to styling. Something that looks impressive on a large stage may feel completely out of place at a small family gathering. And a decorative setup designed for photography may not work in a busy area with a constant flow of guests.

We consider the size of the space, furniture layout, lighting, fixing options and the venue's requirements. A wedding may need an arch or ceremony-area styling; a birthday may call for a photo backdrop and a decorated table; a brand presentation may require a neutral background, branded elements or a decorative accent at the entrance.

If the event takes place outside Hamburg, in the surrounding area or elsewhere in Germany, the availability and delivery of décor are considered separately based on the items required and the logistics involved.

Photo backdrops, arrangements, textiles and other details

A wide range of decorative solutions can be considered for event styling: photo backdrops and shooting backgrounds, arches, stands, screens, decorative panels and structures, plinths, podiums, vases, artificial floral arrangements, floral elements, themed figures, lettering, signs and wayfinding. For tables, options include textiles, runners, decorative trays, candleholders, centrepieces and table-styling details.

For a stronger visual impact, an event may also benefit from entrance styling, a welcome area, festive installations, balloon arrangements, lighting décor, decorative stage accents or a dedicated photo corner. For more intimate events, several smaller details supporting one colour palette can sometimes work better than a single large structure.

This list describes possible styling directions; it is not a promise that every individual item is currently available in stock. For each request, we check what is available locally, what can be sourced from partners and which options can realistically be delivered by the required date.

From weddings to photoshoots — where décor makes a real difference

For weddings and wedding ceremonies, décor helps highlight the key moments: the place where vows are exchanged, the wedding table, the guest welcome area and the space for photographs. It can be formal or understated, classic or contemporary, but it should always suit the couple and the chosen venue.

For birthdays and anniversaries, popular options include photo backdrops, numbers and lettering, decorative backgrounds, festive table styling, cake displays and themed details. Children's parties can use brighter, age-appropriate and imaginative designs; first birthdays and family photoshoots often suit softer, calmer styling. For Gender Reveal Parties, Baby Showers and christenings, we can select appropriate symbolism, colour palettes, backgrounds and intimate decorative arrangements that respect the character of the occasion.

At parties, cocktail receptions, buffets and corporate events, décor can define the theme, create a welcome area, highlight the bar or provide an attractive place for photographs. For presentations, store openings, business meetings and conferences, the priorities may be more restrained: clean spatial styling, support for the brand's visual identity and careful positioning of details in relation to lighting, the stage and guests.

A separate area of our work is décor for individual, family, commercial and themed photoshoots. Sometimes one expressive backdrop or a few carefully chosen objects are enough to create a completely different visual story.

The examples shown are not limits on your imagination

Our catalogue is designed to show ideas, materials, colour combinations and different ways décor can be used. But the photographs do not mean that a setup has to be recreated in full. You may like an arch from one concept, the colour palette from another and a small arrangement that we have not shown on the website at all.

You can send us a photograph from the internet, a sketch, a styling reference from social media or simply describe the atmosphere you would like to create. We will discuss which elements already exist in our collections, what can be adapted and which additional options are available for your particular event.

If the item you need does not appear among the published examples, that does not necessarily mean it cannot be sourced. However, sourcing, custom production or delivery possibilities are always confirmed separately.

Décor hire without booking full event organisation

Different clients need different levels of agency involvement. Some simply want to hire a few decorative pieces and style the venue themselves. Others would like the items selected to match a particular colour palette and scale. Some need delivery, installation, dismantling or the creation of a complete decorative composition.

Choosing décor does not require you to book a host, show programme, catering, full event organisation or any other MOOD.EVENTLAB service. We can focus only on the part of the preparation you actually need.

Some large or technically complex structures may have specific requirements for installation, fixing and transport. In these cases, the conditions of use and the need for professional installation are agreed in advance.

Our Hamburg warehouse and our partners' décor collections in Ukraine

Some decorative items are stored in our Hamburg warehouse and may be available for events in the city and surrounding area. Other options come through partner companies in Ukraine with their own collections, structures and event-styling materials.

This gives us a wider choice of styles, sizes and types of décor, but it does not mean every item is equally easy to access. Local availability, reservations for a specific date, completeness and condition are confirmed when you enquire. For décor from Ukraine, we also need to confirm availability with the partner, preparation time, transport and delivery arrangements.

We do not want to promise that every item you like can be available tomorrow. It is better to discuss your event date from the beginning and offer a realistic solution: use items already available, find an alternative or plan the delivery of the required collection in advance.

Why some décor should be ordered well in advance

If the décor is already in Hamburg and available on your chosen date, preparation may be relatively straightforward. But items that need to come from Ukraine require more time for availability confirmation, preparation, transport and any formalities connected with international shipping.

Lead time depends on the individual item, volume, route and transport conditions, so we do not give one fixed promise in days or weeks for every order. The earlier you tell us the date and show us the style you have in mind, the more realistic options we can consider.

This is especially important for large decorative structures, non-standard items, themed collections and events taking place during busy seasonal periods.

From collection to full venue styling

Depending on the décor selected and the nature of the event, we can discuss item collection, delivery to the venue, placement, installation and later dismantling. Not every item can be transported and installed in the same way: a small table arrangement and a large decorative structure require very different handling.

Hire terms, pricing, any deposit, responsibility for the condition of the items, returns, transport and on-site work are determined for each individual order. If you only need the item itself without additional services, that can also be discussed.

The key is to understand in advance exactly what is needed, where the event will take place, how long the décor is required for and who will be responsible for installation.

Beautiful styling is not measured by the number of items

A large installation may look impressive in a photograph but take up far too much space in the actual venue. Sometimes a few candleholders, a precise colour palette, beautiful fabric or a small photo backdrop can create a far more harmonious atmosphere.

We do not believe in hiring as much décor as possible. The right elements should suit the scale of the event, the character of the space and your budget. The purpose of styling is not to fill every empty corner, but to emphasise what matters most.

You do not need to know the professional names of structures, materials or decorative elements. Simply send us a photograph, provide the date and venue, tell us what kind of event you are planning and describe the result you would like to achieve.

We can check the available options, confirm dimensions and suggest which pieces make sense on their own and which work better together. If some elements need to be brought in from our partners in Ukraine, this will be discussed before the order is confirmed.
