How to order a bouquet without overpaying
Season, size, endurance: the three things that set the price of florals.
The price of a bouquet comes from the season, the stem count and the complexity of the build. Peonies in January cost three times what they cost in May — that is logistics, not a florist markup.
The second factor is endurance. Some flowers will not survive four hours on a summer terrace without water; that is solved either by variety or by a design with hidden vials.
Tell the florist your budget up front. The same money buys either a modest bouquet of expensive flowers or a lavish one of seasonal blooms — and the second almost always photographs better.
