How to run a kids birthday that does not fall apart
Timing, age, programme length — and why an animator cannot save a weak script.
A kids party runs by the minute. For four-year-olds the active part is forty minutes; for ten-year-olds, an hour and twenty. After that attention scatters regardless of budget.
The programme is built around the child, not around props. The theme gives you decor, a photo zone and costumes, but the script and the host hold attention.
Leave fifteen minutes for the cake and ten for presents — the most underestimated part of the timeline, and the usual reason everything else slips.
